Description:

It is a freshwater animal originating from Central America – Mexico. Beautiful orange coloring. He is an omnivore, he likes food rich in proteins. Females lay eggs 24 hours after fertilization /20-50 pcs/. the water temperature is suitable 15-25 degrees C. It is a small species, it is tolerant, it does not destroy plants or fish. This crayfish became a hit due to its small size.

In general, crayfish of the Cambarellus genus are suitable even for complete beginners, the condition is a well-established tank, planted with plants and moss. The crayfish can tolerate a wide spectrum of water chemistry. Recommended aquarium size, min. 10 liters, ideally from 30 liters and more

Water parameters:

Temperature: Maintain the water temperature between 68°F to 78°F (20°C to 25°C). Cambarellus patzcuarensis “Orange” can tolerate a slightly wider temperature range compared to other crayfish species.
pH Level: Aim for a pH range between 6.5 to 8.0.
Hardness: They prefer moderately hard water with a GH (General Hardness) between 4 to 10 dGH.
Ammonia and Nitrite: Keep ammonia and nitrite levels at zero, as crayfish are sensitive to these substances.

Feedind:

Provide a varied diet consisting of high-quality sinking pellets, algae wafers, blanched vegetables (such as zucchini, spinach, or cucumber), and occasional protein sources like bloodworms or brine shrimp.
Avoid overfeeding, as excess food can lead to water quality issues.
